Who I Serve

I work with adults, teens, and people in relationships.

Coming from an extensive background in Community Mental Health, I am experienced supporting folks dealing with chronic and severe mental health symptoms and work collaboratively with prescribing doctors. I’m also experienced, interested,  and comfortable working with people who are functioning well in the day-to-day, but want to bring more health, joy, and balance to their lives and relationships.

  • As a cis-hetero White male, I am drawn to working with other men to build healthy masculinity that is vulnerable and strong. Balanced emotionally intelligent men are good for the world. I also value holding therapeutic space for BIPOC, LGBTQ+ folks, and cis women who are interested in a restorative relationship with a guy that’s got almost all the privileges. Like so many of us, I’m in the process of unlearning racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and all the other nasty stuff I swallowed.

  • I love working with young people. I have a breadth of experience connecting with teens and young adults across educational, support group, and outdoor experiential education settings. When working with youth I believe it is essential that parents respect the confidentiality of our work and are open to seeking their own treatment. Families are systems with everyone contributing to the successes and struggles.

  • When working with people in relationships I am curious about exploring the balance of independence and interconnection. By deepening our understanding of ourselves and our others (partner, child, friend, parent, etc) we can build authentic respectful ways of communicating and showing care. Through this work I have seen people move from anger and blaming to boundary setting and open dialogue that brings more love and harmony into their lives.
